Stainless Steel 316L rings are used in harsh chemical and high-heat environments where the standard version of stainless steel falls apart. This grade alloy is engineered for high-temperature fabrications while offering excellent corrosion resistance. The "L" within 316L alloy stands for low carbon proportion (0.03% max.), which provides several benefits in high-heat environments. It offers superior weldability and excellent resistance to carbide precipitation. 316L alloy rings also prevent intergranular corrosion in environments where there is a risk of grain boundary formation of chromium carbides in the course of welding.
Stainless Steel 316L rings are a superior solution when clients require strength without annealing methods while maintaining consistent and lasting performance. Stainless Steel 316L rings also establish good strength and ductility that overall deliver good mechanical properties, holding tensile strength (485 MPa) and yield strength (up to 170 MPa).
